I thought today I would do something a little different from my usual posts. I’m going to write something a little personal. A few weeks back I went to visit my family and friends in Canada. I first stopped off at Toronto for a few days, then went on to Winnipeg for the remaining week and a half.
Holidays are funny things. You are supposed to relax, recharge your batteries that kind of thing. But it takes me so long to get into a holiday that there’s no more holiday left. I think I discovered that I prefer ‘working holidays’. I find myself far too out of the loop if I’m not in contact.
I can hear everyone now saying, we all need to relax, stop working etc… but actually if I love what I am doing and get energy from it, then I’m not convinced you do need to relax in the traditional sense of the word. Maybe for me my way of relaxing could be just crashing at home on the couch, playing a game on my iPhone, or pretending I’m a rockstar on my guitar. Hmmm I’m just going on now, so I guess I’ll stop.
Ok – the pics, I have included some info about them if you want to know what the heck something is.
A run down of what is in the pics (mostly so I don’t forget where I was :p)
1st ROW OF PHOTOS
- Airport with Internet seats far too expensive, this is the Airport that told me my flight no longer leaves from there and I would have to make my way to Manchester. So nice of the dears to tell me. Oops they didn’t.
- On the flight, the back of the chairs, with USB connection. That was great. I could stay on a plane all day.
- Toronto Airport. Amazing sculpture.
- Mall in Oakville. First mall I’ve been to in a few years.
- Second Cup – used to practically live there I’ve drunk so much Iced Tea from there!
2nd ROW OF PHOTOS
- Me & big iPhone display, you knew I had to take this photo.
- Beautiful birch outside my sisters house.
- HUGE shoe store – rows and rows of yummy shoes. Got a pair of HOT HOT HOT Betsey Johnson shoes that simply Rock it!
- Arriving in Winnipeg, my son just fell back into the snow. Was fantastic.
- 48″ Flat panel at that price convinced my son that he wants to move to Canada.

4th ROW OF PHOTOS
- A picture my parents have on their wall. this was pretty typica of like a Sears portrait place.
- An artwork my parents still have that I made at my first year of Uni. Its a plaster cast of my hands and face. On a suitcase – yes that’s right haha what was I thinking?!
- Playing pool.
- One of my Dad’s paintings.
- My old highschool.
5th ROW OF PHOTOS
- The photos of the first graduating class from the highschool (that was us) Small class. On the wall in the school.
- The Gym.
- The lockers
- My teacher from grade 7-12, Mr Mousseau. This was an incredible experience for me. I had wanted to find and thank him for introducing me to computers. He has been in my ‘about me page’ for ages, and when I met up with my school mate Sherri, she told me he actually was back at the school after leaving for a few years.
I went to meet him and he was just as inspirational as ever. It was one of the best things I have ever done in my life to go back to talk with him. It was also really nice to realise that he didn’t see me as such a bad student as I thought I had been.
Funny when we spoke I hadn’t spoken english with him, and I actually tried to speak English because my son was with me, but I just couldnt do it. Was pretty surreal the whole thing. - Typical bus stop. They have phone numbers because the temperature is so low you really gotta phone to find out when your bus will be there exactly.

- Typical Stop sign, and typical roads in the city.

Thanks for sharing these – great photos and good catch up on what you’ve been up to!
Awe thanks. I think I did actually post them so I would have memory of what the heck I did and what Winnipeg is like.
Welcome back
Your blog Home Sweet Home | my nonlinear was interesting when I found last Tuesday by accident while searching for roomba reviews online. It’s funny what you could find on the internet sometimes. I’d have to agree on what you have to say, although it may seem like a wrong choice, but nontheless an interesting subject. Enough said, keep up the good work my friend!
